Abstract

New Information and Communication Technologies (NICTI) continue to rapidly impact 011 our lives in several positive ways. In spite of the lack-lustre penetration of the NICTs in greater parts of Africa, these technologies are already generating socio-political and economic consequences. These technologies
have some power for good and alsofor evil so their social consequences callfor constant examination. Thepaper examined these ne~ ztive consequences and made some recommendations.
